Our Company History - Test
It started with a great cup of coffee, as many success stories do.
In 1886, the prestigious Hotel Del Monte in Monterey, California introduced the world to Del Monte Coffe, a premium coffe specifically blended for hotel guests. The coffee must have been potent, because the company quickly grew to a globally recognizd brand with a reputation for high standards and fair practices.

History of Del Monte
1886
The brand is born
In 1886, Del Monte Coffee premiered as a premium blend of coffee packaged exclusively for the prestigious Hotel Del Monte in Monterey, California.
1968
Fresh growth
In 1968, Del Monte Corporation acquires the West Indies Tropical Fruit Company of Coral Gables, Florida.
1989
Del Monte times two
In 1989, Del Monte Corporation divides into two separate entities: Del Monte Tropical Fruit and Del Monte Foods.
1996
The gold standard
In 1996, the Del Monte Gold® Extra Sweet Pineapple was introduced, becoming an instant hit. People insist on it because it’s twice as sweet and has such beautiful, golden fruit.
1993
Call us fresh
In 1993, Del Monte Tropical Fruit changes its name to Fresh Del Monte Produce N.V.
2011
Meet the magnificent MAG® Melon
In 2011, MAG® Melons were developed to meet demand for a melon delivering consistent quality, flavor and aroma. The MAG® Melon has a more pleasant and concentrated aroma compared to traditional cantaloupes, and has a sweet flavor and juicy texture.
2018
Introducing the Honeyglow® Pineapple
In 2018, we developed the Honeyglow® pineapple, allowing it to mature naturally on the plant for a few precious extra days. We then hand select each one to ensure a high shell color, delighting people who associate ripe, premium pineapples with a bright, golden shell.

Breaking Better
Launched in 2019, the Better Break™ convenience line gives you flavorful snacking in only three minutes! What’s more, Better Break™ is 130 calories or less per serving, and based on fresh, delicious vegetables
